Wayne,
1, 3 and 4 are great. I think this lens may be ok if stopped down sufficiently.

Piro, I like 1 and 4.
Did you bump ISO up from the default 200? On my post the other day about my first fashion shoot, I got some really good suggests from Alex, Wendell and Matt.
The guts of the suggestions were: no flash, ISO as high as 800, f4 - f5.6, 1/250 sec.
I think you'd have a lot of trouble stopping the action at 1/50.

Johnd - Yup I bumped up the ISO to abot 640 and 800. At an aperture of 4 and 5.6, it's really soft on the sigma and no chance of using a shutter speed of 1/250 with that lens. I'm going to get rid of it and purchase another tele or another longer prime.

Piro, I did my first fashion shoot with an 85/1.8 that I picked up on this forum 2nd hand for $500 I think it was. I made a lot of mistakes and have a lot to learn, but the lens is showing it's potential as a great lens for fashion work.
Cheers
