Couple of birds today.

Was lucky enough to come across two frogmouths while out for a wander through a national park. Quality isn't great as they were very high up in a tree, but I think it's nice to capture these beautiful birds :) C&C always welcome.

nice photos.i dont think ive ever saw a frogmouth in the wild.the third shot looks like a butcher bird,the hooked beak gives me that impression.

Mark everytime I find some owls they are always in places where it is difficult to photograph them. You have done quite well.

Oh and I agree with Pa, that looks to me like a butcherbird.

looks like a pied butcher bird to me too.

There was a frogmough in my yard the other night, first time I ever saw one around here.

looking back, It may have been after the kittens I presented in another thread.

John: Not a major point but Tawny Frogmouths aren't actually owls but part of the Nightjar family
