Taken with my 135 f/2. I quite like the bokeh in this shot. Yes, it is a candid. It was taken using my Zigview and she glanced across at me.

Beautiful Sheila, and you are right, the bokeh is lovely. Looks like she was happy to pose for you. Nice, sharp image. Thanks for sharing :D

I need to find out more about this zigview you keep talking about.

Great portrait. Very natural. Looks professionally posed, yet candid.

Hi Sheila,

I love the crop in B&W. Having good lens, good camera and good photographer really helps :D

The only thing I would suggest is to try to not make the hand so "white". For me, it stands out just a bit too much.

thanks for sharing,

André

just a thought, when she looked your way and you took the photo, did you feel embarrased that maybe you got caught ? did you show her the photo ?

my balls are not big enough to take "that" type of shot

cheers rob

I guess if a male tried shooting females & kids candidly like Sheila does you could be labelled as a predator......

Nice work Sheila!
The JPEG compression is a bit too noticeable on these though, especially on the mono version.

For people interested in the Zigview, note that there is also the Zigview R which has a lead to connect to the camera's remote release (not much use for D70 users of course). Not only does it have an intervalometer (e.g. for timed long exposures or for time-lapse work) but it will also act as a motion-sensor based on the image it sees through the viewfinder!
Haven't actually used one myself (I use the Canon TC-80N3 remote for timed work) but I gather that the visible external differences are:
- "Zigview R" on the top instead of "Zigview", and
- "CAMERA" instead of "COM" socket on the side.

Ok, the crop is just plain freaky....she looks like the ghosts in the Japanese horror movies..... Otherwise it's a great and natural capture :) Did she question you about having her photo taken?
