i know we shouldn't feed these things, but when they come alongside and you have some bait left over ...... this young girl had a ball doing this today at the annual snapper comp in whyalla ( biggest snapper was 14.6 kg's )

Great capture - any way you can get the image to her? I think she and her family would love it :)

Whilst I strongly disapprove of what is being done, that is one great capture.

yes i went there with a pic like that in mind and was so happy to get it ( more of her on my www ) there was about four of them in the marina and they all got well fed as there were quite a few boats in the comp, i believe her father fed them there as he saw i had a camera so thats why i put it under snapper competition on my site hoping he would do a search

thanks for the comments

That is an interesting behaviour to capture Rob.
I suspect that there is a lot of feeding goes on in the area having looked at your WWW. It seems as though this is a well learned behaviour. Cute but sad because you just know that one day some a** is going to slip one of the beauties a micky fin and that will be the end of them

yes it is a worry steve, cause there's plenty of dickheads that hang around the foreshore drinking and smokin, and there is a baby dolphin here too so it will learn to chase the boats in the marina as well ....

I agree with Oneputt wholeheartedly - great photo, and great to capture a 'moment', but not something you really want to teach 'wild' dolphins to do (says me, while about to hand feed a baby possum on my front deck  )
