I was pleased how these came out. Taken with a 70-300mmG and 5T closeup filter.

Great vibrant colours and sharpness, hard to believe it was a 70-300G :) Well done.

Lovely shots Thomas but just a tad over-sharpened for me. The large hotspot on the top bud in the first photo is a little distracting. Choose an unblown orange from nearby as your foreground colour then give the spot a run over with a soft, low opacity brush on Darken blend mode and that should fix it up fairly well. (Apologies if I'm telling you something you already know)

I've got a G as well; treated well, it can produce some half-decent images, as is evidenced here in your work. Well done.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try

Nice shots Thomas. Are these images cropped? I looked at your exif and assume you have only cropped a minimum amount.

I have been trying to use my 70 - 300g to get some good shots a particular flower in my yard as it comes into bloom. However, lack of good access to the flower means I have to shoot from a distance with the lens at max focal length. My shots look very soft and are disappointing. I might try shorter focal length with a 100% crop and see how that works.

Cool shots here, nice vibrant colour, it's hard to get a macro shot to stand out because there's so many of them, you've done well.
