I went all the way to SA to find some turning grape vines in the Barossa, and find the best ones here in Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula!

These taken at Red Hill Estate and Montalto Wineries over Easter.

I love the first one. The leading lines and tones are sublime. Also makes a great change to see this Autumn foilage rather than the bunch-of-grape shots we usually see. (Not that i am complaining about them.) Nice work.

Stormy I like the frst and third the best. Nice composition and colours. The second appears to have a distinct pink cast evident in the collour of the soil.

The composition of the first one makes it a stand-out for me.

Beautiful compositions Jane. Great use of colours and leading lines. Love the symmetry of #1, the simplicity of #4 and the way vine lane in #3 leads into the distant scene :)
cheers

Thanks for your comments everyone!

Oneputt, It does look slightly pink doesn't it! I would never have noticed unless you pointed it out. It was tricky light conditions and it may be slightly over exposed. Might have to go back into Photoshop for that and try and rectify it.

Your first image is one of the finest vine shots I have ever seen. If you have the skill then I would be tempted to clone the wire stays out of the image. Others might disagree with me there. Lovely image.

Thanks Matt!

I don't think I have the expertise nor the patients to even consider cloning out the wire stays. It would take a month of Sundays which I can't spare! ;) I'm only just beginning to get my head around Photoshop!

Why do I always seem to like the one pic that no one else mentions! In this case Stormygirl it has to be number 2. The line leading to the trees takes you from the most gorgeous pastels to the richness of the wooded area. To me this denotes the coming of winter rather than an autumn shot (yes, I know it’s autumn 8) ). My belief is that sometimes a non-saturated pic can be outstanding from those with full on colour. Well done.

Hi Stormygirl,

I think I smell grapes or whatever is leftover after pressing.
Someone is making Grappa , I'm sure someone is.
For me the 2nd and 3rd photo are the ones
Get rid of the wire if possible and No 2 will be fantastic.

Cheers,
CD
