Ok so I know it's not quite winter yet but in Melbourne it may as well be! Rain / hail / wind / cold, yep beautiful one day crapy the next.

Winter in Melbourne can be a somber experience.. enough to send anyone into hibernation. So I just thougt I'd post a few images to keep me sane in the knowledge that warmth can be found just about anywhere.

I love Melbourne!

Sunny and 27C in Sydney :D

Nice series, I like the first shot in particular, very well exposed.

Beautiful series, I particularly like #1, #3 and #5. The colours and tonal balance in the first image is excellent.

Lovely series, and it's easy to see why people love Melbourne.

#3 does remind me a bit of a Paris street scene. I also like the last one.

Well done. :)

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

In #1 I was trying to offset the cold colours in the background with the warm colours in the foreground. I really liked the seperation between the two. And the 'Early Cheer' made me laugh :)

My grandad painted a number of pictures of Melbourne, one being of Collins St at 5:00pm... just as everyone was crawling home from work. There was a seperation between the forground and the background that really captured the escence of city life and despite my best efforts I've never been able to capture it in a photo. I think I see things differently to him. I'll just stick to flowers and lollies instead!

Nice series of pics.

For some reason I like staring at the jar of lollies in your second shot.

Should I remove the light on the left side from pic 3 or leave it in? I'm not sure if it adds or detracts from the scene.

#1, #2 (love the OOF and colour vibrance) and #4 (composition and perspective- elements work well together) are terrific captures.
cheers
