So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Meet Oscar, who lives with a friend of ours who we were staying with in Brisbane last weekend. Oscar is normally the most laid-back, people-friendly, talkative cat you have ever met. Except maybe this one time when we were harrassing him just a bit too much with the kitty toy you can see in the bottom corner of the photo, and some of his inner-cat shone through, just for a split second. D70s, 50/1.8 @ f/4.5, 1/10s, ISO200. SB-800 w/ LSPJ, pointed straight up.
Beautiful shot. Cats have this way of looking laid back and malevalent at the same time. You have captured this nicely.

Nice shot.
Our cat spends it's time hunting snakes. She has brought three live snakes inside this week. Not worried about myself or the GF if we get bitten. Expensive though if one of the dogs gets bitten. I could ring the cats neck. If she kills a bird that will happen. I get to laugh though. She is off to the vet in the morning to have her girly bits removed by a vet who hates cats.

Well, you know the old saying.. Dogs have owners, cats have staff.
It's an odd one for Oscar, as he is normally not like that at all. Thanks for the comments guys - I am just happy I captured the moment (as you can never direct animals or children).. a nice sharp handheld image at 1/10 too!!
To see just how sharp it is... (the colours might be different on this one, I saved it under a different colour profile) - the full res version, just run through a basic smart sharpen in CS2.

This was one of the usual times when I'd been shooting in manual, with the 12-24 (so 1/10 wasn't such a big deal). Then changed lenses to the 50/1.8 and of course didn't change the settings. Normally after that my first few shots are disasters until I realise my mistake. This is one of the happy exceptions.
