Nice capture Heath. Pelicans are such beautiful birds too. So graceful in flight - so awkward landing and taking off.

Terrific Heath.

I spend a lot of time trying to get that perfect shot of these most graceful birds, you have done well.

That's a great capture Heath There are plenty of pelican photos araound but raely as good as this one

Thanks all. Geoff- 70-200VR @ 200mm f/4 ISO:400 equiv.
EDIT - Shot at a reasonable size in frame, but ideally 300-400mm would have filled frame more completely. 200 f/2 would be nice, with 1.7 TC, but I don't really take this kind of shot much.

I love Bird photos. I wish some of my photos turned out as good as this one! Lovely detail and composition.

This has got to be one of the best pelican shots I have seen for a long time. Great to be able to capture the bird in flight and the water splashing on the right gives it that extra dimension. Nicely exposed, too.
Very, very nice....
