While I've been AWOL my camera remained dormant and unused until this weekend when I happily accepted day trip with Doug and Genista to the Blue Mountains. Plenty of shots were taken and I'm hoping to set up a gallery, but I found paritcular joy in photographing this little bird and his friend. They weren't shy at all, and infact when I started shooting they quickly came inside the minimum focusing distance of the 80-200.

Anyways here they are, these two were shot at 2.8 so the DOF isn't as large as I'd like it to be.

Thanks again to Doug and Genista, not being able to drive it's lovely to friends willing to let me tag along.

Craig,

Nice close-up of a White-browed Scrub Wren. Great eye contact.

Cheers

Michael

The clarity of the eye in the first shot is brilliant Craig. Well done.

Great work.... I like the first one the most - The textures in the feathers on the breast have been well captured.

Thank you for the ID of the little bird, it really was very cute and had no fear of me sitting in the pathway.

Maybe its my butt ugly look??

Steve if you avatar is anything to go by, I'd say the birds are just imtimidated by your hairdo, you're not that ugly.
