What can I say. This one, thankfully, lacks the canvas treatment that I didn't like in your other two recent posts (owls & lily), but this image is not of your usual standard. Compositionally it's a little cramped and it just lacks overall punch. I think the bloody thing should have looked at the camera and then you may have had a keeper. Sorry for being so harsh, but I know you can take it.

You have no idea how much I love this image! It is one in a million! The composition and all other pictorial elements are perfect....to my eye. But it's perfectly OK that you have a different POW and I am more than happy to consider your feelings. I enjoy trying to make sense of the way we all react differently to images. But this image is going on my wall in a gold frame.

This majestic bird is the Powerful Owl and they are found in the forest only a 10+ minute drive from where I live. In fact, Samford is known as "The home of the Powerful Owl". These delightful birds shouldn't be caged in small aviaries - its a crime, really. I've had the pleasure of seeing them in the wild at night and they are just magnificent.

I keep coming back to this image just to stare into these eyes. And then I start to laugh. For some reason this photo has me in absolute histerics every time I look at it. My family think I have gone mad.
