I thought meerkats were cute

This was the first time I have seen them eating...nasty little carnivores arent they..
maybe this is why they prefer eating leaves..

Meerkats.. awesome lil critters.... see em on Animal Planet all the time.. digging up spiders and scorpions and other assorted insects that would make most of us climb walls to get away from..

The meerkat photos are excellent. I like the fact that you've captured them looking fierce instead of cute. Lucky to get the giraffe in that position.

Well capture Big V. Geez you really have subjects which vary from one extreme to the other (ie. stars and galaxies to animals)
Every little critter has it's good and bad sides and it has to eat - whether cute or not.
That giraffe is a great photo

Meerkats are Omnivores... but more importantly.. Insectivores.. so.. lovely lil predators...

These shots of the meerkats will surprise a lot of people, having seen them devour (dead) mice being tossed into their enclosure woke me up... Cute little critters though, unusual perspective and well captured...
The giraffe shot cracks me up, Manta beat me to it, the first thing I thought of was he was eating a meerkat... This is a terrific catch... Also, considering the lighting you had to deal with, I think you've done an excellent job on the exposure...

tho not the same quality as Big V I got these on the way out of zoo yesterday proving that meerkats also have a taste for alloys/plastics.
fortunately for one over zealous young girl help was nearby!
