Hi all,
I took this image yesterday and have made it under exposed on purpose and slightly de-saturated it, I wanted it to be a little darker but I'm not entirely sure that it works.
Please give me your opinions or tips on how it could be made better - I’m no Photoshop genius either, and to date this would be my most processed image.

Close...but try pumping up the contrast so that there is a rich black in the image. I think that would improve it.

I hope you do not mind as I have had a play with your image using lab colour........ this is a very good shot and a lot more can be done to improve the quality of the image.......

I think some sort of compromise between these two versions would work well. The first is a little too dark for my liking, but the second seems to have lost some of the nice blues in the sky. Nice shot, though.

Jamie, it's a slightly too underexposed I think to create the effect you want. Maybe try playing around with the shadow and highlights level in p/shop and see if you can achieve your desired effect.

This is a nice shot. I prefer a non-pped version.

I would also crop a little from the bottom.
a little too dark at the bottom.
nice feel to it.

Thanks for the suggestions and ideas everyone.

The problem now is i dont know where to start. Na, I'll have another go at it later on with some of the ideas from here and see what i can come up with, but please feel free to add more ideas or even to have a go at it yourself if you wish (or are bored enough).

Here is the orignal, underexposed and with shonky horizon.

I really like Byrt's 3rd image I think that particular colour enhances the mood of the photograph.
