Trying out BW silhouette image

Not sure if this is true BW but it definitely is a silhouette and am interested in any comments nevertheless. Any ideas on how others approach silhouettes would be welcomed. This was shot at Bokarina from under a berm, hence the grass eye level, and this 'bird' jumped up above me. I tried to keep the gleam in his eye.

OK It is hard to see the whole image isn't it.

How is this?

I like the shot, might need a bias towards the left by cropping more of the right slightly. And there is a dust bunny on the left side of the image.

about 800 wide would have been better for me but the size you have has given me the chance to crop it on the screen and i agree about cropping to just behind the tail .
I really like the background dark muted colours with the grass and bird in black ... very nice 8)

I like this, the reflection on its eye almost looks lik eit has a hole in its head to see through, very nice!

You've captured a terrific, moody image here... Silohettes sometimes don't grab me as they tend to need "something" but here the silohette is the subject and it works really well...

Would probably go for a little more open space on the left where the bird's looking, but I'm being a picky mongrel here :) Not sure about the reflection in the eye...

Nicely weighted where the horizon is, well done...
