A selection of pictures taken during recent trips into the mountains around the NSW/QLD border. The Minyon Falls shots required a 3.5hr round trip hike, lugging an aluminium 190 Manfrotto tripod.

For the Mount Tamborine photos, I learned my lesson and specifically chose waterfalls less than a 1km walk from the car park

Very nice - although they are all variations on a theme, I do like them.

My fave is #2, mainly because of the colour. I like the composition too, although a trifle too structured.

I least like the last one, because the image is too cluttered with fallen branches, and the colour is a little too monochromatic by comparison with the others.

#1 is quite good too, but the flowing water at the bottom of the frame draws the eye out of the image.

A series well presented.

Having been to curtis falls i know how bad the light is in there so you have done well on that pic.

That last one looks like a scene calling out for a polariser to reduce the harsh reflection highlights on the leaves, you would get much more saturated colours... and require longer exposures, which can be a good thing for this type of scene.

Terrific location and lovely images. You need to just take a little care to not blow out highlights in the water and some leaves. Last is a little too busy and I'd be tempted to crop a little(that messy section of rocks in bottomleft corner) from the left hand edge turnng it into an almost 6x6 scaling.

Thanks all for the tips and kind words. Curtis Falls was a tricky location as there were lots of fallen palm tree branches in the creeks and streams there.

I didn't feel right wading in there and cleaning the bush up just for my photos.

Gordon, I was using a CPL for the last image (as I did for all the images, I don't have an ND filter), but in hindsight I probably didn't have it at full strength.

great varity of scenes there.. and different views, angels etc. great color and exposure.
