a photo panorama stitch I put together from a series of photos of a sun-rise at Hamilton Island from the balcony of our hotel room.

Sorry about the size C&C's welcomed

Matt

This is a quite interesting pano, but could be made a touch better IMHO with two changes:

- Clone out the distracting bit of building on the RHS - this keeps the mountains on the RHS (a crop wouldn't achieve this) and removes the distraction

- play with the curves a little to remove the really blown highlights where the sun is (one thing I'd suggest is to do this in layers with photoshop - have one layer adjusted to bring back the detail in the sun area, and the other layer to show the detail in the rest. For the layer on top, just erase the bits you want the layer underneath to show through using a soft edge for the eraser).

Thanks Pete - I see where your coming from.

I had liked the balcony in frame from the point of view that it emphasises the location of the capture, but I realise that it is a distraction, that was my take on it also.

I will take the image to the shop and see if I can recover some of that detail in the highlights... the morning sun is very bright :)
