had to do an exercise in lighting for photography in media today, so went in to the dark room and pinned up some black cloth to the wall and just used one incandescent lamp, which is all i really had, to show how moving the light can change the feel and mood of the same subject. these three are what i used. i think they turned out alright.

The first and the third of these are, for me, the best, but I think you need to work on the PP to bring out some more shadow detail.

On the second, look closely at your shadows: these are somewhat harsh and more attention needs to be paid in order to soften the lighting.

Also, please take a moment to review the FAQ: the maximum size of any one side for images posted here should be greater than 800 pixels; your smaller side exceeds this, and that may make viewing difficule for members who don'thave larger monitors. Also please review the filesizes and while making the images smaller will help address that issue, you should always kmonitor those aspects of your postings. These images are not exactly friendly for thosemembers on dialup, and your cooperation is appreciated.

I think if you increased the contrast in the first image it would improve it at the moment it seems to be too grey. That's just my opinion though.

Cheers,
Owen.

Well I think you certainly achieved the point of the exercise. :) All three photos have a very different feel and mood. I like the first one best.
The third one could be better with better contrast as already discussed.
