Two from Holland House that show the less is more approach.

For both of these images I used a brightness & contrast layer in PS to darken and deemphasise the background so all you can see is the central part of the image. The second image has also had a vignette blur added to soften the edges of the image. Nothing else fancy here - both taken with 24-120 VR and for the clogs I used the D70's on board flash dialed down by -0.7. Beer - 1/100 sec @ F8, clogs 1/60 sec @F5, both at ISO 640

Peter, the wooden shoes are WOW! I never thought I'll say this but I prefer that shot over the beer.

Great shots Peter.

Your post processing really makes your images shine - I'm going to have to work on mine. Might look into trying Nikon Capture again.

Visually striking images Peter, great work. #2 is really appealing with the composition and colours really jumping out.
I think I would have preferred #1 to have been subtley rim or back lit rather than the green outline that, though complementing the green bottle, is a little too much for my liking. I like the Grolsch script and font selection which suits the image:)

Great stuff Stubbsy, and a good eye for detail. I can't say I would have thought of taking a photo of a bottle on the wall.

Just wondering if you missed PPing the grey area around the top of the bottle (in between the metal swing arm). Should this be black background or was it part of the sign?
