This is the first post of images to this forum although some members will be familar with the name Bodak on another site.
The forum name Bodak is an old throw back to my young days when swearing was met with a guff around the lug hole, so the mates and I would substitute bullshit for "Ah Bodak"..
Don't ask me, just thought I'd throw that in.

Honest Crit's are welcome......

This first one is from Warneet here in Victoria.

The second was taken from Hastings pier, both are on WesternPort Bay.

The first image doesn't do much for me, but the second really appeals. I love the rays of light coming through the patchy clouds and the silvery tones of the water.

G'day Stephen,

Wow, first image posting and what a pearler...

The first image gives me a calm relaxed feeling, and I like the way you've framed your subjects, nice subtle color in the clouds too...

The second image though is my favorite, love the rays streaming through the break in the cloud cover, it's one of those scenes when you're glad you have your camera with you to capture it... Wonder whether it's worth a try cropping some off the top to exclude the patches of bright blue sky and give it more of a pano feel???

Looking forward to more... :)

Hi Bodak,
Welcome. :D
Agree the second image is the pick here. A pano crop would focus more on those gorgeous rays and make this shot even stronger.

I've tried all that but settled on that crop to try and give the feeling of the clouds coming overhead...
It was a magic time that morning as every second was a new image and the heart was fairly pumping with excitement and wonder.
I have many images from those two series and will put up a few more, but don't want to bore those that have seen some of them already.

Thank you for your encouraging comments.

Nice work. Regarding #2, I think they are called Jacob's ladders.
Cheers

G'day Bodak,

I actually prefer the 1st one. Lovely soft tones.
