Evening all,

Here are some pics taken recently in one of the many dance clubs here in Sydney.

The smoke machines keep me busy (turning off flash and reseting cam - ISO, WB and f-stop) All pics on a D2H (not s) and 17-35 AFS and SB-800

Nice photos. Exposure seems to be perfect in No.1 and nice smiles. No 2 - good composition.

God I hate smoke machines!

thats why its always good to carry trust fast primes with you, but in your case the lens you were using was plenty fast, the shots are well done middle one is my favourite purely because of the lighting in the background.
Are we there yet?

The lighting in #2 is fantastic!

It's the pick of the 3 images here.

Love the shots Mate,
nice colours and lights.
No 2 would be my favourite.
Where the hell are these clubs, of course I would only go for photographic technique practice..
Good work.

Simon,

If you're worried about content, don't be. If you took the images - or at least have the rights to publish - we're basically ok with that.

If you still feel a tad concerned, don't hesitate to pm myself or one of the other mods and we'll be happy to offer further guidance. As a basic rule, we have yet to say no to anything in terms of content.

Simon,
I like the atmosphere in your shots, nothing there I can see the violation of our rules.

Admin + Mods:
How's about to organize the next coming AW in August at one of these clubs, surely this new taste will encourage our members to pull out their camera and shoot more than usual.

Umm I think I know the girl on the left in the first pic... now where have I seen her before??

Great shots. JohnD and I went to a fashion show and did some shots a month ago..

The one thing I noticed the most was that when your holding a big camera (SLR) people tend to move when you ask them :)

Awesome shots by the way!!

Re Content

Oh yeah, all the pics are mine and ok'ed for release but the bit I meant to say was that some are a bit XXX rated so I didnt post them.

Thanks for the clarification too.

I figured as much ...

If you're concerned, then by all means, place a warning in your header ...

If you're really concerned, just ask, as I already indicated.

But as a general rule, and from what I'm seeing thus far, I'm surmising that we're talking nudity, and that is perfectly acceptable here. If we're talking sex acts, then please send me a PM and provide me a bit more information. As a guide, nothing will shock me, and I don't believe in censorship ....

I agree these are great shots really for where they was taken, i have tried taking indoor shots during daylight and dont look as good as these do. Mind you the subject is a lot better and i have never been to a night club as such in some 25 years as here there are more fights and stuff but this looks like my type.

I admire you guys who do this type of shots in such poor light etc...

i like how you captured the light in the 2nd shot
and the last shoot is very cool as well

it looks like a sloggi fashion show.

Haha - I had to google for what sloggi meant . . .

Close, it was a lingerie parade + catwalk extending out into a dance floor

It gets really hot shooting in there, lugging camera gear around all night.

Simon - some stunning shots here!
The first one is great in so many ways - exposure, composition and the 'feel' or 'vibe' surrounding the image. Love your work.
