Tritone madness

I have not been satisfied with my B&W photos, always lack of "depth" when I look at them, so I tried another solution... BTW, the last one of the water was shot using a 70-300 cheapie. :lol:

Grev I like the first and the great lighting, but the rest do nothing for me.

I like the mood of the first shot, it also look's abit monochromatic as well.

The first of these works.

The third might work better had you shot this in portrait mode.

It's much softer than, say, #1.

Same here. I like the lighting in the first pic.

The others don't appeal to me much.

I like the lighting and composition of the first pic but I feel it can be a lot stronger. Try adjusting the levels to give the shadows and tones a bit more oomph. Right now, it's just too flat for me.

I was at the curves for a bit looking for a good solution, my other attempts made the photo even flatter. I did get more highlights out in other versions but I didn't really like the looks in those ones.
