I'm looking for peoples comments on the back lighting that I've employed with this shot.
I've tried different coloured backgrounds but I think this adds to the depth of colour in the flower.

Minolta/Sony 5D with kit lens and home made flash diffuser.

I like that shot Bodak, especially the contrasting colours of the background and the flower. Well done.

Terrific complimentary colors, red and blue... I reckon the flower just about jumps off the image...

I like it too Bodak. I normally do the backgrounds black, but I think this combination of colours works really well.
I Like the fading to black to look like vigniting as well.
Something new for me to try.

Cheers

The background was black then I used Render/Lighting effects/omni on a background layer.

Thanks for the explanation Bodak. I'll give it a try. Getting the background black was going to be easy.
I was wondering how I was going to do the fade to the blue (or other complimentary) colour.

Cheers
