Heavy Vehicle Workshop

The latest road accident rescue techniques were on show as firefighters upgraded their knowledge of heavy vehicle construction and further developed their vehicle stabilisation and extrication skills.
Scenarios included a Scania with the refrigerated unit on it's side with a passenger vehicle underneath the trailer with the entrapment of the drivers of both vehicles; the releasing of both vehicles (Scania and car) using the cutting equipment and the preparation of both vehicles prior to lifting by Barnes Auto; and the lifting of a bus off of the ride under situation and extrication of the driver from the Western Star.
