Hi all, I am a serial voyeur and have been watching all the forums since I joined DSLRUsers a couple of weeks ago. I have now got the courage for my 1st review. I am pathetically new so any idea's would be good.

Welcome!

That's certainly an interesting plane! :) Very colourful indeed... Nicely exposed, but I dunno about the composition. For me, it really needs to be zoomed in further, or wider. This is sort of an in-between nothing shot for me, unfortunately. BTW is that a Freedom Air jet? The logo is familiar, as is the hideously bright yellow :)

colours look flat to me compared to the vibrant shot you showed me today.
I reckon the colour profile is wrong

You're right. The image is tagged as aRGB. Viewed properly (outside Firefox) all colours are more saturated (esp. the jet engine) and the sky a bit more blue, too.

Cheers
Steffen.

Steve's right, it is saved as a aRGB but I warned you all that I'm new....

For the record I am Aussie and my username happens to be made up of the street I grew up in ( Also a very famous NZ horse ) and I just happened to submit a photo of a NZ plane. Talk about 6 degree's.....

John:
I just tried to upload the image I sent you to photobucket and get 400 size also.

I did a test with a slightly smaller version and it appears to happen if the image is above 500k.
I will put a smaller version on my website asap and you should be able to use that one no worries.

Of course, with an image that's only 700 pix wide there's no reason to make it 500kB in size either - 100kB would be ample.

moz: the one that he was going to put up wasnt 700 wide.
the one on my website is 700wide because I set that keep forums happy.

John: I put the 800 wide one on your ftp server
should work for you now

Thanks Steve, I have now swapped out the original for the sRGB version.

I didn't mention when I posted this photo that it was taken through a cyclone fence. I was told that if you open the aperture enough the wire in front of the lense just disappears. Would never have believed it until I took this series of photos. Just about white mans magic....

Welcome!

What a cool plane - makes me want to fly in it. Well captured with very rich colour - nice job.
