Love the first but would prefer the background to be just a tad darker so the leaf is more the subject of attention. It tends to get lost in the background.

Really?, the yellow leaf stands out from the orange background on the LCD's here

The leaft is great, I'm on my gloomy CRT but this shines even on it!
The bricks while the lighting is nice the bricks are just a little uninteresting..

Just the yellow part towards the stalk (starting to get OOF) it blends into the bkg...but that's being really nitpicky. Wanted to say something else other than just "great pic" :)

pharmer,

I've noticed that you consistently turn out images with great colour.

The first one is excellent.

The second is not quite the same league, but works well. Especially as it's just a brick wall, but your composition and capture of the colour has turned it into something more.
