This is a classic fish eye shot IMHO. I'm guessing there will be polarised views on this one. No defish so the effect has been kept and an uncropped image to boot (yes I sometimes manage to frame things right in camera

)
Taken while test driving my new D2x & my old 10.5 DX fisheye:

I like it - the wider the better
Works best on expansive scenery and indoor architecture

Depends on your definition of ”classic” Peter. As a fisheye, well it’s a fisheye! IMO fisheye shots need to be well thought out and different. We have a member (can’t remember his name) from Belgium who uses the fisheye to make a shot, that is different and in many ways classic.
Sorry mate, it’s just very ordinary.

Nicely done! I like balance in this one although at the size you posted it's probably not nearly as dramatic as a large version would be.

Is the eye in the title for fish-eye. or because it looks like an eye?
It might just be my job, but when I look at this image all I can see is the top of a big eye ball looking up into the sky...

The horizon's not straight.
Seriously, Chris has said it all. This image reminds of the times in the 60s and 70s when people who have FE lenses used them to make all manner of images ... because they could .... rather than because their use was warranted by the image needing to be made.
