Carrara Stadium sunset, QLD

I can't seem to wrench myself away from taking landscape photos, specifically sunsets, these days. Oh well, I might as well run with it while the weather is nice.

Taken on the way home from work. I'm not sure if I really nailed any one of the photos. Perhaps the foreground river bank on #3 should be darker/silhouette? All comments welcome.

G'day Jonas,

These are terrific... It's good to see some sunset images with good foreground subject/silohette appeal...

#1, I assume you stopped down so far to get the "star" affect from the sun?

#2, I like the symmetry of the opposign light towers, although there's a bit of open space above them, I'd be tempted to crop just a smidge off the top to bring the tower closer to the top right third.

#3, Wow the color, mother nature really turns it on sometimes eh?

I can relate to the "I can't seem to wrench myself away from taking landscape photos", I went through a pier fetish recently, it's strange but ah well, just go with it mate

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Mudder, I didn't realise stopping down would contribute to the star effect on the sun - you learn something new everyday. I'm not sure its a necessary effect for this pic so I'll be careful when using it in the future. And you're right, #2 could lose a bit off the top.

Big Pix, this on my way home from work and I've been looking at it for the past two to three weeks sizing up the potential for a pic. I finally stopped and did something about it.

Big Red, yes, it was taken from the new Ross Street bridge. Nice, wide footpath on the side so no probs with the tripod at full extension.
