Okay, okay... I know this view appears millions of times around you all... and many of you get past it every day and night....

But well, here is what I got from one sunset, a month ago maybe. I find it pretty cool, so I'd post it up...

Might be cliche but not a bad shot. I'm sure any American/Asian/European would love it. Only criticism I can poke at it would be to crop a bit from the left, feel a bit more balance and you also lose the blown highlights above The Rocks.

Great contrast between the dark buildings and the colourful sky. Well done.

Gotta love it!

The dark outline of the HB and OH is nice against the sky, I wouldn't mind shooting that shot myself :)

This is a nice capture despite the cliche. One point - this image at 1100 pixels is too wide. Please read the FAQ (accessible from the front page) as well as the current message at the top of the front page for more details on image posting guidelines. We have a maximum size of 800 pixels to improve the viewing experience for our members. For example with an image this wide, in order to view the replies to your original post on many monitors you need to scroll from side to side to read the text. I understand that this is a bit of a dilemma with pano shots like this since at 800 pixels they can look a little on the small side, but the best solution is to include a link to a larger version.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Nice image Yi-P.
Great colours, nicely exposed, nice and sharp.

Trieu, how come we didn't see a sunset like this :?:
I guess it's who you know at the BofM

Cheers

Call it cliché, but just because it has been photographed a lot doesn't detract from the fact that everyday is different and this one is a beauty.

It's only a cliche if you live in Sydney. Put it in any camera club comp outside Sydney* and you'd have a strong contender.

(* and probably Melbourne. I get the impression Melburnians get funny about Sydney...)

Anyway the reason images become cliched tends to be because they're *good* images - you might as well get your own copy.

Ronza wrote:... crop a bit from the left ...

- tend to agree with that, for the same reasons.

I like it, it works really well and I don't find it cliched, for me it's a winner.

Anyone here in Syd know a place which does cheap printing (large) and another with cheap framing??

Its worth framing it me thinks...
