Well as you may have read the weather up here went a bit crazy this arvo and after a brilliant weekend meet at O'Reilly's with blue skys we came home through hail, sleet and heavy rain and got chased up the Pacific Highway by the blackest of clouds.
Dropped Finch off and continued north only to be greeted more black ominous clouds. Bizarre
So here is my first post from the weekend which are the last shots that i took.

Wow Mark,, awesome shots, I was on the Bribie ferryman this morn, with bright blue skies, came home at lunch time, and missed all those great sky scenes,,

Thanks Folks. Right place and time
I have got to say I was just looking forward to beating the storm and geting home after a big weekend but I couldn't let that sky escape.
Geoff, I didn't realise it but I had the RAW/JPEG combo set on the D70s so these are just the low res JPEGS with 20% Velvia Vision and resized. Going to have a play with the RAWs when I get a chance.

Christian, it's actually a pineapple field that I pass every day going to work. Been meaning to stop and take a few shots of it for a while now so today was the perfect opportunity.

A fantastic bunch of images, but #1 is by far the strongest because of the foreground interest and strong perspective that drags the eye into the image.

Thanks again Folks, that 10-20 is a great lens and has become one of my favorites.
Loz, just a UV for protection.
Peter, I think the strength of this lens is the incredible DOF that allows for up close detail in the landscape.

Firstly, thanks for driving me up to the O'Reilly's minimeet. Much appreciated and it was great to share the fun of the weekend with you and the guys.
We were driving back in the car, with the black storm clouds virtually chasing us down. Mark made a comment that we should stop and take shots but we were on the freeway. After he dropped me off, this is what he ended up with.

No bracketing , just grabbed some shots quickly as the weather was about to hit. It is actually a pineapple plantation just off the Bruce Highway and I agree it would have been nice to have a bit more light there. Might have a bit of a play with the RAW file.

Yet more jaw-droppers. I have a feeling that the crammed small format doesn't do those pictures justice. I guess that is why they invented IMAX
It is also,
BTW, the reason I always treasured slide projection. You wouldn't believe what impact even a mediocre picture can have on a big screen, let alone pictures like these...
