I like the theme.. but i find it distracting how only 1 tooth is in focus.. and the focal plane makes my eyes go cross eyed as it drifts down to the corner of the image... maybe blurring out under the tooth a fraction so its still there.. but not giving it a focal line.. just making the focus on the tooth a bit more.. if thats what your after..

just me tho...nice image

Sorry but I'm not seeing much in it.

The poor DOF kills it for me.

I like how only one tooth is in focus. It kinda highlights that it will only take one of these little buggers to do you some real damage. I also agree about the white in the background as being distracting. Overall a good shot for me.

Hrd to tell without seeing it, but maybe it'd work better if the tooth in focus was one of the one's closer to the front. As it is there is too much distracting OOF in the foreground for me. And I agree, crop off the top to get rid of the white.

I might try a crop to reduce the white area and cut a little of the OOF foreground out.

Might be a shot to enter into the ES June - Extreme DOF ?

I saw that just now.

Not valid unfortunately as I took the shot in May! I will have to come up with something else. The 50mm 1.4 is great.

I like the way the depth of field flows down the side of tbe circular saw blade. This could make a great depth of field example using a range of different f stops.

Another version, more DOF and no white light.
