It was a fantastic foggy morning this morning, and after the Kinder run, I managed to take some pics at a local park as the fog was lifting. The added bonus was some Autumnal colour still about!

These two shots are excellent for their detail and the beautiful ambience of the fog/mist :D

Is that park in East Malvern?

Love the lines in the path leading toward the fog...great capture.

Thanks fellas!

Cricketfan, the first park I went to is in Mt Waverley (pics displayed here), but three other images on my web site, also from today, are indeed in East Malvern! Just a shame the fog had already lifted. Next time I will head straight there!

My friends used to live in East Malvern, just a stroll from the park on your web page. They've moved to Auckland now. Still takes 2 hours to get here, but you can buy duty free grog on the way!

The fog gives a nice feel to your pix, SG.

You've made me very jealous Jane - cold crisp mornings, fog and autmun colours. We've been very cold lately but the other two aspects are rare up here. I think I live in the wrong state...

Lovely pics.

Jane

For me #2 is the pick. I think the warm and well lit foreground is a great counterpoint to the receding fog in the distance.

Jane #1 is my pick, terrific. The mood and composition are excellent. Lovely sharpness with little water droplets also visible Lovely clean image that guides the viewers eyes through picture and into the soft mist. #2 also good but the path doesn't guide the eyes as well as the first image plus the distraction of the shed in the bushes seems out of place and commandeers the eyes.
cheers
marco

Thankyou John, Manta, Stubbsy and Macro! This park is actually a very narrow strip of land inbetween houses, and if it wasn't for the fog or leaves you'd be able to see fences and houses galore...it was actually tricky trying to get the aspect right to miss them!

I was hoping there would be another fog this morning and I could take a trip up to the Dandenongs....no such luck! Maybe next weekend!

Thankyou everyone for your comments, it's always appreciated!

Jane - I have re appraised these shots and come to the conclusion that #1 fits the title more aptly than #2. The mystery of fog is illustrated in #1 by the low contrast and makes one feel the fog around them - excellent
