Not my usual style so I thought I'd share these three. I took them Sunday and thought they didn't suit my normal, more saturated treatment. Hopefully they work for you

This one is my most problematic. I'm concerned it looks like the boy is running towards the waves when in fact he spotted them and stopped dead in his tracks.

Image

I'm hoping this one gives a sufficient sense of scale for the wave to look big

Image

This one I'd normally discard because it lacks colour and the sky is over polarised, but I just can't get past the amazing feeling of power in that wave. Taken with 70-200VR.

Great shots Peter!
I can see every grain of salt in that last shot. So sharp!
With the first shot I thought the person/kid was fishing but couldnt see the fishing rod!
The second one cant really get a perspective on size.
And yes the sky in the last one is an odd colour. I like it :)

Peter did you try a portrait layout of the first pic? For me there just seems to be too much space in the pic. I feel a tighter crop would create a more powerful pic. I can tell that the boy was shocked by the wave and not actually running towards it. My guy feeling is that portion of the pic is a lot strong than the rest of the elements.

The third pic definitely reflects how powerful those waves are. Wouldn't have wanted to be caught at the wrong place at the wrong time with those bad boys (or girls) crashing around.
