Tung Lung Chau is an outlying island opposite to Clear Water Bay Peninsula. It is very popular with rock climbers due to the huge amount of natural curved cliffs.

It is located to the east of Hong Kong Island and about a 30-minute ferry ride from Sai Wan Ho.

Tung Lung Island is very important area in ancient maritime defence and the Buddhist Hall Fort on the island constructed 300 years ago, as a part of a maritime defence system to protect trade and fend off pirates. The fort, according to one record, was erected in the Kangxi era (1662-1722) to guard against pirates.

Now it is good place for exotic travel and nature photography.
