Here are four differently framed shots of basically the same subject matter one of the resort pools at sunrise. Sadly the last one suffered due to tripod slippage it was splade out to get nice and low and one of the legs was too loose, I probably would of been better of with a beanbag then using the tripod, my Sony. You need to change your links, at the moment they simply link to the thumb (_s) instead of the larger size (_m). Also, the second _m shot is ~900kb, it hasn't been resized, so I can't really compare it yet

Technical difficulties aside, the blurred one isn't recoverable IMO. #1 has a nice sense of symmetry, but I think #3 is the better composed, the curve of the trees leads your eye to the boat nicely. I would have like a tad more trees, but they're all great shots

Nice shots Craig, I like them all and think #4 would have been a stunner.

I think had #4 not been blured would have been the best,

because it has less empty space at the top of the image.

It is a shame about #4, but as it is I'd probably say #1. Lovely colour.

all things being equal, I would have preferred #4

Thanks for the feedback, it's a shame I didn't reshoot the shot once I'd fixed the tripod for #4 as I tend to agree it's nicely framed.

Here is another the same day just a little later in the day.

#4 is the best for me.

seeing thumbnails of these makes it easier if it works small it works big

the 3rd one, but with slightly tighter cropping as i think the space on the left unbalances slightly

othwerwise i like #4 as well even though it's blurry

I like number 3. 4 would have been the best, but out of the rest 3 is the go for me.

No 4 has the most pleasing composition. Why? I'll leave that for someone else to articulate....but you should be able to articulate why, using the terminology of composition. Ask yourself "Where does the eye travel to and what leads it there"?

Composition-wise, the 1st and last one do it for me.

The colours look great.
