Hey Matt -
Your strange chicken is a buff banded rail :) (Rallus philippensis) (undergone a recent name change, but this will pull up any information you might want to look up ...... and I'm too lazy at the moment to get up and check what it became ;)LOL

Thanks blacknstormy
These suckers are very flighty but have beautiful markings. Good looking birds but hard to catch.

You're welcome Matt :)
They really are an attractive little bird - but you are right, damn flighty !!!! Took this shot of one a couple of days ago - you should see these suckers fight - you'd think all hell had broken loose !!!!!

I love "Looking for somewhere to nest".

That turban must look so inviting.

I knew these were your pix before I saw the photog's name, Matt.

Excellent and thoughtful as always.
