Broken Glass Tubes....

A couple of shots of broken fluoro tubes, courtesy State Rail.
The detail/sharpness is lost a little due to saving for the web.
The lighting was natural, in a very dark train carriage.

Very gritty - I really like the first one, but for the life of my am not sure why??
But for some reason, it appeals.

#1 - nice and sharp (no pun)
- good composition
#2 - Too soft, camera motion or out of focus

Marty - love #1, it has a real grungy type feel to it, and I know you like this type of photography - keep at it and keep on posting!! The 2nd image doesn't do a lot for me, but #1 makes up for it

I agree the first one is the pic for me....you have placed the area of focus perfectly for the image, it realy drwas attention to the focus area and then you scan back and view the image again overall.
You did well...not many would have an eye for this type of work, especially me

Thanks guys for all you comments.
I think the second shot suffers from camera shake, due to the cold weather and me trembling whilst trying to take the shot.
I personally prefer the first, but was trying to have two differenet shots of the subjects I shot that day.
And LostDingo, you just have to look everywhere, especially down, even getting down on your knees to see hidden subjects to shoot.
