Out of the two I'm drawn to one but reckon the image would be better if the dark area at the bottom was cropped.

Nice pics, certainly looks like a nice start to the day.
It was a nice -6 here this morning. The doors locks and seals were frozen shut on my car. I had to defrost it before I could get inside. Occured to me just before I've drank a beer or two in the Old Bar Bowlo. Nice area! 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Pa, I really like #1. I think the wider angle does the trick and I prefer it to your poster shot of yesterday. I wouldn't crop the deep blue off the bottom, if anything I would try cropping a bit of the top, below the high clouds on left hand side so the horizon is about 1/3 way down the shot.
A nice place for sunrises. Is there anyway you can get some foreground interest into the shots? Reeds on the bank or boats moored? Cheers John D3, D300, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 85/1.4, 80-400VR, 18-200VR, 105/2.8 VR macro, Sigma 150/2.8 macro
