a couple of shots from this morning .the first with focal length
of 18mm and the second of 35mm. they were taken 7 minutes
apart.

Out of the two I'm drawn to one but reckon the image would be better if the dark area at the bottom was cropped.
Just my thoughts.
Looks lke a great day coming up for you, we have overcast and drizzle down here in Melbourne.

Nice pics, certainly looks like a nice start to the day.
It was a nice -6 here this morning. The doors locks and seals were frozen shut on my car. I had to defrost it before I could get inside.
Occured to me just before I've drank a beer or two in the Old Bar Bowlo. Nice area!

Pa, I really like #1. I think the wider angle does the trick and I prefer it to your poster shot of yesterday. I wouldn't crop the deep blue off the bottom, if anything I would try cropping a bit of the top, below the high clouds on left hand side so the horizon is about 1/3 way down the shot.
A nice place for sunrises. Is there anyway you can get some foreground interest into the shots? Reeds on the bank or boats moored?

I agreewith John here Pa, try it with less sky, emphisising the reflections a little
