Great light and colours, but I'm not sure there's any one element in the pic to draw the eye?

Interesting combo there with the D50 and 18-70 D70s kit lens. I was considering a similar combo as I was unhappy with the review of the D50s 18-55. But then I realised the D50 body and a separate purchase of the 18-70 would cost as much as the D70s kit anyway.

Looks like a nice spot, light seems hard and as though you would have had a hard time as judging by the shadows the sun looks as though it's straight above you which makes shadows deep and highlights tend to be really strong...

The fence grabs my eye, maybe try experimenting with a crop? I've just done a quick crop into more of a pano just to try something different... Let me know and I'll take it down (it's in a non-public temp folder)...

Thanks for showing interest in my post. The original was wider. Here is another I shot with a wave in the background. This one I reduced the shadow a bit. I know what u mean about shooting around midday, but I shoot when I can I thought the fence could be a distraction...

This one seems to have a much nicer "balance" to the image between the rocks and the water breaking... The shadows also seem a lot softer??? Did you do some PP like shadows/highlights sort of stuff?

At that sort of time of the day, you're gonna have trouble with highlights being very bright (the breaker seems very bright/hot)... If you like to have a play with processing, I'd be tempted to clone out the ends of the plastic pipes sticking out of the rocks and I'd also be tempted to maybe bump up the saturation a smidge too and get them colors a poppin'
