Three very different pics from my Mudgee visit at the weekend. I have lots more to PP (I took 1300 shots ), but these are three that took my fancy.

Nice shots Peter, 3 down 1297 to go.

I really like #3 Peter but with 1300 shots would you not be better off using a video camera

Maybe it's the National Geo theory at work....1 out of every thousand captures from a photog on assignment is chosen for publication.....so Peter should have a min of 1.3 National Geo quality captures

No, Peter manages to see some things to capture that others might overlook....not many have that type of an eye.

On another note....there is a young fella in my office who has a D70 and he shoots night club shots.....each time he goes out he shoots a min of 600 shots.

The problem is he is just "pulling the trigger"....after a year of this he still has no clue what his camera can do or how to use....no disrespect to him as he is a really nice guy....but he doesn't seem to have learned much.

I can go out of a weekend (take in mind only landscapes and longish exposures) and I will most likely shoot about 100 for the whole weekend.

Personally....I don't have the kind of time to sift through hundreds and hundreds of pics....I'd rather take a few good ones. If I can get "1" good capture of the morning I am in all honesty very happy

On the trip
I shot less but carefully choosen what I aimed to and I usually achieved the high ratio of keeper.

Shooting sport or action is difference way of shooting.

But then in thousand of triggers, you may or may not earn a real good ones.

Maybe Peter tries to find something to do or makes himself busy with his spare times to PP those 1300 shots till the next workshop at Stockton sand dunes shooting on the 29th July

At this rate Birddog is going to have to post more bargains for CF cards and hard drives more regularly.

Peter - that last one (#3) is absolutely stunning, would love to see this enlarged, printed and framed - the colours are amazing mate. Keep this up!!

I like how #3 turned out - the D2x really latched on to the blue!

I'll be interested to see how my version of #1 with the fisheye comes up with a bit of PP. I like what you've done with #1.

#3 is a superb shot Peter. The vibrant colour,contrast and DOF make it a winner of the three by a mile. Just can't wait to get my hands on the 70-200VR I ordered from Birdy

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. I decided against getting it first up thinking my money would be better spent saving up for another quality lens as I have the 80-400VR that I'm pretty happy with but it's tempting
