plying with trees today...not sure why. Click the links for larger (1000 px wide) images

This one was a long (30sec) exposure using the kit lens, it came out a little softer that I wanted.

This was kit lens, f 11 at 40mm, was trying to capture more detail in the clouds.
thanks

As you mentioned, the first one is rather soft, and that really detracts from the image. Maybe it's also the colours, but it's missing something that the second image has.
I really like the second image, it works really well.

The second photo is very nice BUT I love the first one because I would put this in the art classification and being a designer it has appeal to me.
Just goes to prove that everyones taste varies

				G'day,
The second one (oak_2) really does it for me, very nice with an interesting background too...
Cheers,
Mudder.

I like trees, so I enjoyed viewing your "experiment" Andy.

I often shoot similar (but crappier) abstract or arty-type segments of trees, but never displayed them online for fear of ridicule or be reported to the men with straightjackets...

Surprisingly, the first pic is as shot. I cropped it a bit, but no other changes. I have another where the coast guard flew throught the shot fairly low and left a light streak. Thanks all

Both very nice shots, atencati - the first one deserves special mention. Like the 'surreal' feeling of it.
