Colours of the Night - MelbourneSome night shots taken around the Yarra, quite enjoying carrying the tripod around

Nice work again Barrie - I like #2 the most, It'd be cool having a small person in the shot, dead centre back towards camera looking up.
All these images are nice and crisp - which lens? Geoff
Special Moments Photography Nikon D700, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8VR, SB800 & some simple studio stuff.
Nice stuff Barrie, I really like the first one, did you PP the light like that ?
I agree with Geoff, something to put shot 2 in scale (a small child) would make the shot stronger for me. #4 Is great, love the reflections #3 is the only one that doesn't seem to work for me, not sure if thats because I'm used to you and the Sigma.
Thanks Craig - The first one, I reduced saturation in the yellow areas to make the blue stand out. The other shots have no PP at all The third one - I just liked the various colours and the glass (maybe not the strongest composition possible)
Oh how different we all are.
#3 is the standout for me - I like the multilayered composition and the contrasting colours and having some people in shot gives a great sense of scale. #1 I like next best - for the contrast between the white and the blue. Compositiona ppeals too. #4 - looks kinda odd to me because the relfections are streaked as if the camera moved. Other than that I like it. For me #2 is the worst since there isn't much to hold my attention - moreso because it's pretty much one colour. Thanks for sharing these Barrie. Peter

No problem Stubbsy, thanks for all the comments With #4 - the reflections are on a moving river and the shutter was open for 15 seconds, so would account for the streaking I guess
Barrie,
You're really getting value out of your gear ![]() I like what you've done with all 4. #2 looks like it's in some nuclear bunker and a big steel door is going to slam shut any minute ![]()
2nd one is my favourite, probably because nightscapes no longer hold my interest

Come follow the rabbit hole...
