hi
second one looks great, what camera set up do you have? no much info?

Good use and selection of shutter speed for both here.
#1 Maybe crop a bit of the sky - perhaps at the top of the tree line.
#2 I like it as is, shows a stack of roost being thrown and rider determination

Hi there Byrt,
I was using a Canon 30D and the Sigma 50-500. Thanks for the comments.

Hi there Daniel,
Thanks for the comments, I will work on the cropping (these are uncropped obviously). Mind you I try and try to avoid cropping as much as possible.
Speaking of a bit of Roost here is another I quite like.
Cheers

Hi TassieD and O1,
Great pictures. It was good to get to meet you both there and thanks for putting me on to this site. Being a mostly landscape photographer (or basically things that don't move) this meet was very challenging for me to get used to things that move and spew dirt and smoke all over you.
This is one I kept from the meet.
( Bet you're glad you went to that corner Owen)
Cheers Peter

Hi there Big V,
Thanks for the comments and yep, we all had a great time. If my memory serves me correct I was between 300 - 400 with the bigma. It varied during the day as I tried different things.

Looks like you guys had a ball there.
My favourite is Owen's rider number 185.
I think it's being able to see the eyes that does it for me.
Cheers

Well again i say it is good to see others getting to these events and having a ball as i do. You can get some great shots doing this sort of sport.
Good to here me mate Dave down there is not getting too lonley as this is how we meet and share the knowledge. Clipsal is where i ran into Dave and is good to meet other who have our passion no matter what camera you are using.
I hate these who are stuck up as i get here with the Canon shooters who come for speedway, couldn't even say hello as walking past so i am glad we are not like them and we get out and take pics and chat to others.
Fella's the bikes pics are all great, loved looking at them and now can u tell me how many dust bunnies do u have??
LOL

Hi there Redline,
Hell yeah wanted to go, but SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) put a stop to that. Hope you got some good action to share, I look forward to seeing them.
We have a day down here at the end of next month, so hopefully will get to that one.
Cheers

Couldn't agree more John,
As for dust bunnies, if I had any they got blown out that night when I hit the camera with the rocket blower.

Dust bunnies galore John
Is hard when you see a great corner with great action but the dust is too much.
But it was great to meet up with some dslrers as you mentioned.
It is a great community.

Shoot me a pm with your email address and I will get some details together for you. Might even have a word to my in-laws who have a boat shed (decked out for guest accomodation) which they may be willing to let you use. Also if you do come down drop me a line with flight details and i'll work on picking you up from the airport, to and from the track and back to the airport when you depart.
Cheers

Looks like you lot had a great day, with some terrific action shots... That would have been a blast...
Loved seeing the rider's eyes and concentration on #185, that's a pearler!
