Decided to wander in between games at the Handball. We were at the venue from 8am til 5pm, so there was plenty of down time between games.

Came across this fence on the beach...

A couple of bottlebrushes...

It was very windy. These Lorikeets had to brace themselves to stay in the tree.

Don't mind the fence...perhaps I would've gone in even closer for more or an abstract image focussing on the patterns on the wood.

Flowers are nice, I prefer #2 to #3 because it's less busy. Were they really that pale or is it a bit too much flash in #2? Maybe a bit of saturation of the yellows would brighten it up a bit...

#4 is very cute but a little busy.

Suzanne, like your bottlebrushes, both of them. The fence just doesnt do it for me and I think I would prefer the birds close up

I like the bottlebrush shots, I think on my screen atleast they look a little flat, perhaps a bump in sat and contrast might bring them to life a little.

The birds are a little too obscured (and far away) the white background is a challenge to shot with too.

The fence is a little so-so for me, I like the general concept but the end result doesn't seem to impress.

Actually this is a cream coloured bottlebrush, not a yellow one. The colour is pretty spot on in terms of being real. It was a grey old day, and that is probably what you are getting.
