A baby croc taken with 60mm micro lens...

You can almost see through his teeth. Won't be like that for long!

The big fellas have an attitude problem. They just site there in the murk and treat you like food...

This little critter was very curious.

great photos.
the teeth look sharp not matter what age they are at. i don't know if i'd be game to get close to either of them. it seems there are two varieties, small and dangerous and large and dangerous.

Was the shot taken underwater???

Well, he was underwater. I however, was safely on the otherside of some glass. I don't care how cute he is or if he smiles at me, I'm not getting in to give him a hug!

(And I don't want teeth marks in my D200)

it is important to remember If taken by a crocodile always try to push your arm or leg DOWN their throat to open the flap of skin at the back of the mouth. They cannot submerge and drown you or if they are already underwater they will drown quicker than you as they cannot hold their breath without the flap being closed.

Not well your croc looks stuffed! Have a look at my croc photo and at the back of the mouth you see the seal at the back of the mouth area closing the throat off.

I'm not worried about that one. He'll be busy for awhile.

Where was that taken. Hope you had a long lens...
(I'd need VR, may hands would be shaking)

It was actually taken with the kit lens in the Kimberley last year. I almost had the camera on the crocs nose and he was hissing at me. (I never knew that they hissed) It was quite a buzz.

Dug a real croc  I have the RAW images to prove how close I was and the gear it was taken with

The croc by the way was as big as the boat. I was on a high for two hours after that encounter.
