Salamander Sunrise

We spent the weekend at Salamander Bay and I dragged my husband out of bed to do a sunrise shoot. This one taken with my 17-40
and this one with my 24-105
Shot RAW and no PP - not even any sharpening. Gotta love the 5D!

very nice part of the world. Love the colours on the water and the streaks in the clouds in the first one.

I like the 1st one. Nice colours and cloud detail.

Love the colour contrast either side of the jetty in that first shot - orange one side pastel blue the other - great composition.
The second shoot doesn't grab me since I focus more on the OOF background than the sharp foreground.
I hope you enjoyed yourselves while up in my neck of the woods.

Sheila - you gotta love those shots. well worth getting up early for.
#1 is almost vertically divided, with one half being warm and one half cool - most unusual but very effective

Yes, the wet weather was part of my fun
I've never seen the word: Salamanda, but always read as Salamander.
Where did you get the wording of Salamanda?

So it's your fault it rained on my newly washed car!
I've only ever seen it spelled as Salamander for both the place and the animal (although google turned it up as a redirected (ie less used) spelling

Thanks all. The first shot was actually taken with my 24-105 rather than the 17-40. Out of the two, I really prefer the second shot.

I prefer the first but what really draws the attention to me is the seperation of color from side to side with the jetty
