Keep Them in the Dark

Couple of mushroom shots. I'm thinking DoF is probably too shallow, but I was handholding and was willing to sacrifce DoF.

Only PP was levels and slight sharpen (on resized JPG)

I'd agree with you there. The lack of DOF spoils these. Especially the 2nd. It would be great otherwise.

I still like the effect of both - nice colours and I like the texture of the second one

Thanks - I must admit I'm fond of the second one despite the very shallow depth of field.

Very happy with the colour and texture and sharpness of what is in focus :-)

Barrie. #2 works for me too

And of course it would for you - look at the colour  :)

Barrie,

I love a good fungi shot and these are both quite decent. Sure, 2nd one could of done with a bit more DOF in hindsight but they still both work.

Cheers

Michael

While these are excellent (and only go to prove that your camera doesn't consistently desaturate your images ) I would have to agree that they may have been better with more DOF...

Barrie - I actually like the second shot because of the shallow DOF :)

I'm with Rel on this too!
I really quite like the 2nd image and the shallow dof works a treat in my mind. Another one I'd like to see enlarged and on a wall. Barrie you're working some magic mate.
