Early Morning BondiWent for an early morning trip down to Bondi last Saturday and here are some of the results.
C+C very welcome There were another five photogs down there and it was extreamly cold, you can see two of them in the last image Cheers Rod
Love the second one.
I've gotta ask... is it just me or does the horizon feel out on all of these? Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

G'day Rod,
It's always surprising when you get up at some ungodly hour and find some other photog's out there freezing their butts off eh? Looks like the early morning was well worth it too... #1, would like to see the edge of the rock on the left, maybe if the framing was a smidge to the left so the left rock's left edge was in frame and the right edge of the frame went between the two rocks in the sand rather than through the rock on the right? That might also move the highlights in the water on the sand away from the edge of frame? Just a thought... Dunno if that makes any sense tho... #2, I love the colors and tones in this... Just wonder if it would help to have the last pole within frame so the rope(?) isn't sort of "hanging there"? #3, Hmmm, thinking about maybe cropping the sand off the bottom and making it more pano'ish? #4, Really like this, like the creamy water and the human element (the other photog crazy enough to be out there ![]() Hmmm, yeah the horizon's do seem a bit wonky to me, but maybe it's that scotch? ![]() Aka Andrew
Hi Rod,
love the last 2. As mudder suggested, cropping the bottom off #3 would work well IMHO. I always like that silky water in the morning, so #4 is quite nice. For me, the human element does detract a bit from it, but still a great capture. thanks, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Great shots Rod...
I must try to get up early one Saturday morning... While I think that jury could be considered out on most of the shots, the horizon definitely needs straightening on the last shot. Cheers, John

Thanks for the comments guys.
I have gone back and checked the Horozontal and vertical planes on these images using guides in CS2 and all were straight except #4 which has now been fixed. #3 gives an impression that it is out because the 4 posts along the front are all at different angle but the light post in the background are all nice and straight. #2 using vertical guides all the buildings lines are straight so it must be the angle of the roadway giving the impression that the image isn't straight Cheers Rod
I particularly fancy the 4th one. Nice!
