My wife, Alison, has inherited my d70 after I got a d200. These are the shots she came home with after only her third time out with the camera and first time with the sigma 150 2.8 macro lens. I reckon they are great shots. I am trying to encourage her to join the forum. I'm sure she would appreciate any feedback about her shots.
Cheers

I reckon you're right John - they are great shots.
Alison: You've got a good eye - I particularly like the composition of the first one. My only tip for improvement would be for you to up the lighting (or push the ISO if you dare) so you can utilise the smallest apertures for greatest DOF. I think you're well on your way to logging some wonderful macro images. Well done, Alison!

Johnd,
Good move when you get the wife involved into the same hobby that you have. So no more excuse of spending $$$$ when the lust raised.
Yes, the macro photo is great and with great DOF, I like it.

Great shots Alison, I really like the first one, composition and DOF work well.
#2 I really like composition wise, however I'd rather have the focus shifted to the bud on the left a little more then on the tree
#3 This one is the weakest of all three yet I still like it, however a bit more DOF would of been nice
For the third time you've used the gear this are wonderful results.

Actually I like the 3rd one. I think it has the best composition and nice colour, a fraction more DOF maybe, but the best for my money.

Beautiful macro shots, the third one is the one I prefer. I like the detail and the colours.
Well done Alison. John, you better hang on tightly to that d200, she'll want it next
Cheers,
André
