Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Steve - Great capture in view that you were packing up, isn't it always the way :!: BTW: what lens were you using :?:

I would just like to get within shooting distance of these magnificant birds.

fozzie, the lens was the 80-400vr @ 400, handheld as I had just packed everything away and quickly got the cam out again.

This is a good catch! Stands out really well against the pure blue sky...

That beak looks like it could inflict some nasties...

Steve - I will head off to the other post now.

Yes it would be nice to have a 600mm f/4.

May be I can lose a tooth tonight, and the fairy will bring me a 600mm f/4 or if that is too much a 300VR f/2.8. I have the TC-14EII and TC-17EII plus the crop factor on the D2x

May be next time I am in Sydney we could link up and capture the breeding pair :)

fozzie: sounds like a plan to me. they certainly dont appear to be going anywhere.

watched them working on the nest today and one bird appeared to be standing on the back of the other bird quite often also
